An elevator monitoring system includes a mobile communication terminal device (4) and an elevator monitoring device (5). The mobile communication terminal device (4) has a read unit for reading a two-dimensional code (33) arranged at an installation position of an elevator as an object of maintenance and management and containing information for identifying the installation position of the elevator, a decoding unit for decoding the two-dimensional code read by the read unit, and a transmission unit for transmitting the information obtained by decoding by the decoding unit. The elevator monitoring device (5) has a map information storage unit for storing map information, a reception unit for receiving information transmitted by the transmission unit of the mobile communication terminal device, and a display control unit for performing control to causing a display unit to display the information identifying the installation position of the elevator received by the reception unit together with the map information stored in the map information storage unit.
