PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a ceramic metal halide lamp, with reduced color temperature unevenness in a lot generated at a ceramic metal halide lamp having an arc tube with thin tubes at manufacturing or at early stage of lamp shipping. SOLUTION: Between a process for putting a light-emitting filling (20) in an arc tube (1) with thin-tube parts (12) at either end and airtightly sealing it, and a process for lighting for a test before shipping of a lamp, a process for taking out the solid light-emitting filling (20) in the arc tube (1) from the arc tube thin-tube parts (12), and a process for collecting the solid light-emitting filling (20) at a part in the vicinity of one side of the thin-tube parts (12), and maintaining a position of the light-emitting filling (20) from the previous process up to the end of the lighting for a test, are provided. Further, a process in which the light-emitting filling (20) is solidified after being heated to a degree in which at least a part of the light-emitting filling (20) melts to have the light-emitting filling (20) welded and fixed at a desired position is preferably included.
