PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a rotor core for an axial gap rotating electrical machine, capable of manufacturing a laminate rotor core at low cost and with improved productivity. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a rotor core includes punching and forming a plurality of first core sheets 11 and a plurality of second core sheets 12, which are different in intervals D1-D6 by forming an inner portion 111 of each of the first core sheets 11 and an inner portion 121 of each of the second core sheet 12, by using a movable cutting unit P1 having a changeable punching position for an electromagnetic steel plate S1 and forming an outer portion 112 of each of the first core sheets 11 and an outer portion 122 of each of the second core sheets 12, by using a fixed cutting unit P2 having a fixed punching position; forming a first core block and a second core block, by laminating the first core sheets 11 and the second core sheets 12 respectively; and forming a rotor core by combining the first core block and the second core block.
