Suction excavator for the pneumatic pick-up of sucked material

The excavator (1) has two ventilator units (2, 3) including ventilators (2.1, 2.2) e.g. radial blowers, for producing airflow. An air supply duct is provided on suction sides of the ventilators. An air exhaust duct is provided on-blowing out sides of the ventilators. The ventilator units are arranged in series. The ventilators are controlled independent of each other, so that each ventilator unit includes a conveyor condition or an idle condition as an operating condition independent of each other. One of the ventilators is passively arranged in the airflow in the idle condition.
