A drive unit 10 for housing components of a drive system for a lift/elevator, such as an electric motor, comprises a cabinet 12 having opposed first 14 and second 16 relatively narrow faces and a wide face 18 between them. An interface 32 is mounted on the unit and faces in the same direction as the wide face. The interface may be mounted using a bracket 37 (figure 2) or a flexible wiring loom. The drive system may comprise a power module 28 and a control module 26, each with its own corresponding surface which forms part of the wide face of the housing. The housing or cabinet may be mounted on a wall or bulkhead. The interface may be buttons 36 or a screen 34. The interface may protrude above the upper boundary of the unit. |
