The method involves identifying a caller of an incoming call, and establishing communication between an on-board device and an operator of an emergency call center. The incoming calls are returned to a standby state at the end of the communication by the device. A particular voice message is emitted by the device to the caller when the device receives each incoming call, and the device is made to wait to receive another particular message, where the caller is considered as the center when the device receives the latter message before expiry of preset duration. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a on-board device for filtering incoming calls (2) a computer program comprising instructions for implementing a method for filtering incoming calls intended to be applied by an on-board device in a vehicle (3) a computer readable storage medium for storing a computer program comprising instructions to implement a method for filtering incoming calls intended to be applied by an on-board device in a vehicle.
