An application and metering system (7, 8) serves to apply a metered film of coating material onto the roll surface, which application and metering system (7, 8) contains an application chamber (11) which is open towards the roll (1, 2), has a feed means (12) for coating material and is completed by the metering system on the roll outlet side. According to the invention, a doctor (22) which extends over the width of the application chamber and can be set against the roll (1, 2) as an acute doctor (22) is arranged at a spacing from the metering element (13). Coating material can be conducted against the roll surface both in front of and behind the doctor (22). |
