<p>The method involves controlling intensity of current (I) that is utilized for supplying an electric motor (5) that is provided with mechanical starter switch according to a start command. The current intensity is controlled so that a commutating power is equal to a predetermined limit in a predetermined range of switching operation. The current is controlled at a rotational speed of the motor according to hyperbolic law. The current intensity is controlled by EMF of the electric motor according to another hyperbolic law. An independent claim is also included for a control device.</p>
