The industrial truck has a drawbar (12) hinged around a horizontal axis to a vehicle (10) in a pivotable manner, where a vehicle controller (14) is provided for controlling the industrial truck under consideration of a drawbar position. An acceleration sensor is arranged to the drawbar and is formed to supply the information over the direction of an acceleration for instruction. Another acceleration sensor is arranged to the vehicle and is formed to supply the information over the direction of an acceleration for the instruction. An independent claim is included for a method for determining a drawbar position of a drawbar of an industrial truck.
