559,828. Folding photographic cameras. HOUGHTON-BUTCHER MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., and HUNTER, D. G. Jan. 25, 1943, No. 1202. [Class 98 (i)] A strut for a self-erecting folding camera comprises a pair of links a, b pivoted together by a pin c, a catch n being mounted on one link and having a cam profile which is resiliently urged against a projection m on the other link so that when the strut is straightened it prevents refolding of the links until the catch is manually retracted. As shown, the catch is slidably mounted on the link a and slotted to engage over the pin c. It is moved towards the projection m on the link b by a tension spring r housed in slots formed in the catch and the link a, and snaps over the projection to the locking position shown when the strut is straightened. Springs X act on bell crank extensions w of the links a to render the camera self-erecting. |
