PURPOSE: An electrode attachment checking device at an electrocardiogram circuit and a method thereof reduce the area of an assembled circuit by using single power and using components less than a circuit which uses bipolar power. CONSTITUTION: Contact impedance of an electrode attached to an object is measured (510). The measured contact impedance is delivered to a differential amplification element (520). The contact impedance is adjusted by adjusting an offset voltage (530). A lead fault of the electrode is determined by analyzing the measured contact impedance (540). The lead fault is notified to a defibrillator to which the electrode is connected (550).
