PURPOSE: A pedal device for protecting a driver is provided to maximally prevent the driver from injuring legs due to a pedal arm by inducing the front rotation of the pedal arm and suppressing the rear rotation of the pedal arm in a collision or a rear-end accident. CONSTITUTION: A pedal device for protecting a driver includes a cowl member (20), a reverse rotation lever (40), a pedal arm (50), and a stopper bracket (60). The cowl member is integrally connected to a cowl panel and is connected to the upper end of a pedal member (10) so that the cowl member is separated from the pedal member by an external impact force. The reverse rotation lever comes into contact with the cowl member separated from the pedal member and rotates around a lever shaft (31) to the front of a vehicle. The pedal arm is compulsorily rotated forwards by coming into contact with the reverse rotation lever when the reverse rotation lever rotates around the lever shaft. The stopper bracket is installed in the pedal member by the medium of a pedal shaft (32) and suppresses the rear rotation of the pedal arm by coming into contact with the pedal arm in a collision and a rear-end accident. The stopper bracket applies power to the cowl member so that the cowl member is separated from the pedal member when rotated around the pedal shaft as the pedal arm is pushed backwards.
