An indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to allow a user to recognize information by displaying various functions and various shapes through a display unit having an LCD. An indoor unit for an air conditioner comprises a display cover(300), a main body, a display assembly, and an assembly controller(350). The display cover is a rectangular box having an inner space and an open front side. The display assembly is formed inside the main body and operates the main body with displaying an operation state and an operation environment of the main body. The assembly controller is mounted inside the display cover, and has a plurality of parts for controlling the display assembly. The display assembly includes a display unit and a display case(330). The display unit displays the operation state and the operation environment of the main body for controlling the operation of the main body. The display case surrounds the frame and rear side of the display unit for protecting the display unit. The display unit includes a touch screen(321), an LCD(322), an LCD controller, and an LCD connection wire. The touch screen is formed in a flat rectangular shape. The LCD displays information inputted by the touch screen and the operation state and the operation environment of the main body. The LCD controller controls the LCD. The LCD connection wire connects the LCD controller and the assembly controller. |
