PURPOSE: A composition containing Sargassum muticum extract for relieving allergic diseases is provided to suppress degranulation and cytokine generation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating allergic diseases contains Sargassum muticum extract or 3-beta-hydroxy-5 alpha, 6 alpha-epoxy-7-megastigmen-9-one as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared using ethanol, water, or a mixture solvent thereof. The composition is a pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic composition. A composition for treating inflammatory diseases contains 3-beta-hydroxy-5 alpha, 6 alpha-epoxy-7-megastigmen-9-one as an active ingredient. The daily dose of the pharmaceutical composition is 0.001-150 mg/kg. |
