PURPOSE: A cooling and heating system capable of using geothermal energy or solar energy, and a control method thereof are provided to minimize an energy consumption rate using remaining heat in a heat storage tank when the temperature of the heat storage tank is between a first reference temperature and a second reference temperature. CONSTITUTION: A cooling and heating system capable of using geothermal energy or solar energy comprises a solar energy collecting unit (10), a geothermal energy collecting unit (20), and a heating and cooling unit (30), and a control unit (40). The solar energy collecting unit collects solar energy in order to heat a heat transfer fluid. The geothermal energy collecting unit collects geothermal energy in order to heat or cool a heat transfer fluid. The heating and cooling unit performs heating or cooling using the heat or chilly air supplied from the solar energy collecting unit or the geothermal energy collecting unit. The control unit controls the operation of an opening and closing device installed on a supply line and a discharge line for a heat transfer fluid in order to selectively supply the heat or chilly air of the solar energy collecting unit or the geothermal energy collecting unit based on the temperature of the stored heat transfer fluid inside a heat storage tank (13) which is installed in the solar energy collecting unit.
