PURPOSE: A finger vein pattern extraction method using a guided Gobor filter and a method thereof are provided to improve the quality of a finger vein image by reducing influence and by protecting a vein pattern from the outside. CONSTITUTION: A pre-processing unit (120) uses infrared light to obtain a captured image including a vein pattern and to set an interested area including a finger vein in the captured image. A guided filter unit (130) outputs a guided image in which resolution is improved by executing a guided filtering process for the captured image. A Gobor filter unit (140) outputs a filtering image by executing a Gobor filtering process in the guided image.
