An LCD and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the number of mask processes by performing no separate process for forming a passivation layer. A plurality of gate lines(102) and a plurality of data lines(100) are insulated and intersect. A pixel electrode(158) is formed in pixel regions. A plurality of thin film transistors(140) are formed at intersections of the gate lines and the data lines. A gate pad(124) supplies a scan signal to the gate lines through a gate link connected to the gate lines, and exposes a metal oxide layer. A data pad(134) supplies data to the data lines through a data link connected to the data lines, and exposes the metal oxide layer. |
