PURPOSE: An evaluation method of the abrasive performance of mold steel and an evaluation method of the abrasive performance of a mold are provided to polish the surface of mold steel by abrasive grain and measure the flexure on the polished surface, thereby evaluating the abrasive performance of the mold steel. CONSTITUTION: An evaluation method of the abrasive performance of mold steel comprises the following steps. The surface of mold steel is polished by abrasive grain, and the flexure on the polished surface is measured, thereby evaluating the abrasive performance of the mold steel. The measurement of the flexure is performed by using the flexure curve which is obtained by setting a cut-off value, λc into a value satisfying the relation of (the average diameter of the abrasive grain used in the polishing x10) < λc < (the average length of the element, WSm). The measurement of the flexure is measured based on the average height (Wc) as an index.
