PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor for hydrocarbon synthesis, capable of stably and continuously operating an FT synthesis reaction by enhancing the fluidized state of a slurry in the whole reactor without excessively increasing the superficial velocity of an inlet of the reactor or significantly increasing the recycle rate of unreacted gas.SOLUTION: A reactor 30 for hydrocarbon synthesis produces hydrocarbon by a Fisher-Tropsch synthesis reaction. A cooling unit 81A including a cooling tube 81 for removing heat generated according to the reaction is disposed within the reactor 30. A gas accelerator 90 is installed below the cooling unit 81A. The gas accelerator 90 is formed substantially in a cylindrical shape having an upper opening facing the upper side in a vertical direction and a lower opening facing the lower side, with the opening area of the upper opening being smaller than the opening area of the lower opening. The gas accelerator is disposed at the center of the reactor 30 so that a gas-containing slurry ascending within the reactor enters through the lower opening and leaves through the upper opening.
