PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine having cover plates that are easier to be mounted than those of conventional rotary electric machines.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 10 is in a cylindrical shape having a hollow portion 20. The rotary electric machine includes a stator core 12, a rotor core 14, and cover plates 16. On an outer peripheral side of the hollow portion 20, the stator core 12 has slots 22 that pass through from a first end surface 24A to a second end surface 24B thereof. The rotor core 14 is housed in the hollow portion 20 of the stator core 12. Each cover plate 16 has a covering section 34 and openings 36 formed therein. The covering section 34 is placed on the end surface 24A, 24B of the stator core 12, and covers a gap AG between an inner circumferential surface 23 of the stator core 12 and an outer circumferential surface 25 of the rotor core 14. The openings 36 fit on the respective slots 22 of the stator core 12. |
