PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of safely, efficiently, and inexpensively decomposing/removing a tar component produced by a vacuum heating separation method.SOLUTION: For the decomposing/removing method of a tar component, in a method of heating/separating an organochlorine compound from electric apparatuses using the organochlorine compound under a reduced pressure, the tar component produced by thermal decomposition of paper/wood configuring the electric apparatuses is decomposed and removed using an alumina single body catalyst or a cerium decomposition catalyst.
