PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide magnesium hydroxide particles that has excellent fluidity and dispersibility when mixed with a resin, and a resin composition including the magnesium hydroxide particles.SOLUTION: There are provided magnesium hydroxide particles that are hexagonal column-shaped particles each having a crystal outward shape comprising two upper and lower hexagonal base planes parallel to each other and six outer peripheral prismatic planes formed between those base planes, the magnesium hydroxide particle is characterized in that a c-axial size of a hexagonal column-shaped particle is 0.5 to 1.5 μm and also 60% or larger of a median particle diameter of the hexagonal column-shaped particle, an inflection point diameter is 0.1 to 0.4 μm, an inter-particle gap is 0.6×10to 1.0×10mkg, purity of the magnesium hydroxide particle being 98 mass% or larger. A resin composition including the magnesium hydroxide particles is also provides. |
