PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto splicer of a horizontal sack filling packaging machine which can easily set a belt-like film, and can prevent the meandering of the terminating end of the belt-like film peeled off from a paper tube when the film is ended and erroneous connection caused by the flying and curling of the start end of the belt-like film.SOLUTION: A table 45 and a press-contact roller 42 have sucking functions for sucking belt-like films FwA and FwB to stabilize traveling. The table 45 performs sucking from the rear surface of the belt-like film FwA of the end of the film to apply tension and prevent the belt-like film FwA peeled off from a paper tube PpA from unstably traveling. The press-contact roller 42 sucks the start end of the waiting belt-like film FwB from its rear surface to prevent the flying and curling of the start end. It is not necessary to dispose a pressing member and a pressing brush above the belt-like film so that the setting of the belt-like film to a table and the press-contact roller can be easily performed.
