PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and versatile rack unit and the mobile mechanism of a traveling object.SOLUTION: A rack unit 10 is configured of: a rack member 40 formed with a huge member 50 at one longitudinal end; a rotary damper having a gear, a housing 20 for guiding the rotary damper to the rack member 40 in a state that the gear and the rack member 40 are engaged and a spring 2 winding the rack member 40 around the shaft between the huge member 50 and the housing 20. A mobile mechanism 15 of a traveling object is configured such that the housing 20 and the rack member 40 are respectively mounted on an instrumental panel 3 and a glove box 4, and that when the huge member 50 approaches the housing 20, the spring 2 is compressed, and the elastic force of the spring 2 acts in the same direction C as the braking force of the rotary damper, and that when the huge member 50 separates form the housing 20, the spring 2 is restored, and the elastic force of the spring 2 acts in a direction c opposite to the braking force of the rotary damper. |
