PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance mechanism which can rewind a cleaning member which wipes ink attached on a discharge port of a recording head without a drive source.SOLUTION: A maintenance mechanism includes: a sheet-like cleaning member 104; a first rotating member 101a on which the cleaning member 104 is winded; a second rotating member 101b arranged in front of the first rotating member 101a in a moving direction of a carriage 2; and a pressing member 103 which presses up a part of the cleaning member 104 between the first rotating member 101a and the second rotating member 101b and makes it in contact with a discharge port. The second rotating member 101b includes a core part which rewinds the cleaning member 104 by rotating in a direction same as the first rotating member 101a, a pair of circular members which are arranged on both end sides of the core part and have a larger diameter than the core part, and an abutting member 102 which is arranged on at least one of the pair of circular members and rotates the pair of circular members when pressed by the carriage 2. |
