PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously correct detection errors based on temperature variation and nonlinearity of a magnetic flux.SOLUTION: A position detection device includes: a base part: a movable part movable relatively to the base part; a position detection unit which detects the position of the movable part relative to the base part on the basis of variation of a magnetic flux to output position information; a temperature detection unit which detects an ambient temperature; and a position correction unit which calculates a correction value on the basis of a difference between the position information and a prescribed value and the ambient temperature and corrects the position information on the basis of the calculated correction value.
