PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable manufacturing of a powder magnetic core excellent in magnetic property and various strengths required for a powder magnetic core, such as mechanical strength and resistance to chipping.SOLUTION: A powder magnetic core 5 is manufactured through: a powder-producing step of producing a magnetic core powder 1 comprising a soft magnetic metal powder 2 and an insulating film 3 that covers a surface thereof; a compression molding step of obtaining a green compact 4 of the magnetic core powder 1; and a heating step of heating the green compact 4 at the recrystallization temperature or more and the melting point or below of the soft magnetic metal powder 2, thereby bonding adjacent insulating films 3 to each other in a solid state without being liquefied.
