PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a router and a method for reconnection to a website for automatically detecting restoration of a web server from a fault and reconnecting to a website even by a person other than a network manager.SOLUTION: The router comprises a LAN interface for connecting to a terminal, a WAN interface for connecting to a web server forming a web site, and control means. When receiving a first HTTP request from a terminal to a website, the control means transfers the request to the website. Then, when an HTTP response that is received in response to the transfer shows occurrence of an error, information on the terminal and the website is stored as access destination information. Next, a second HTTP request based on the access destination information is generated and transmitted to the website predetermined times at a predetermined time interval. When an HTTP response showing the fact that the second HTTP request is successful is received from the website, the terminal is notified of the fact that the error on the website is resolved. |
