PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an architectural concrete block and a masonry method such that even a block fence having no longitudinal joint has higher connection strength between adjacent blocks.SOLUTION: There is provided an architectural concrete block which has face shells 2, 2 on both top and reverse sides of a block body 3. Semicircular cavities 6 for longitudinal bar insertion are formed in both ends of the block body 3. At ends of the face shells 2, 2, hidden joint portions 7 which are obliquely cut in plain view are formed leaving wall portions 2a close to outer surfaces at end surfaces, nad mortar filling portions 8 are formed of the cavities 6 and hidden joint portions 7. Since filling mortar connects the face shells 2, 2 of adjacent blocks, the lateral connection strength of a block fence becomes high and parts of the end portions of the face shells which are close to the outer surfaces are left as the wall portions. Consequently, when blocks are bonded into the block fence, no longitudinal joint is viewed, so that the designability can be improved. |
