PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station and a communication method, capable of improving estimation accuracy in an arrival direction in the case of a large reception signal from a radio terminal.SOLUTION: A base station 10 that uses an adaptive array method includes: a plurality of antennas; a plurality of communication units 100 for radio communicating with the radio terminal through each antenna; and a control unit 200 for receiving from each of the plurality of communication units 100 an uplink signal from the radio terminal. The control unit 200 detects the reception power of the uplink signal, corrects an uplink signal phase on the basis of the detected reception power, estimates the arrival direction from the radio terminal on the basis of the corrected uplink signal phase, and calculates a transmission weight to determine the directivity of each adaptive array antenna on the basis of the estimated arrival direction. |
