PURPOSE: Pseudomonas sp. LOCJN5 is provided to remove nitrate in an environment of high temperature and high salinity under aerobic and anaerobic conditions and to be used as denitrifying bacteria which are suitable for removing nitrate from domestic sewage with high salinity under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. CONSTITUTION: Pseudomonas sp. LOCJN5 (KCTC12098BP) is a novel nitrate reducing bacteria. Ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and organic materials are removed using the strain. Nitrate in sewage and waste water is removed using the strain under an aerobic condition. The strain reduces nitrate and nitrite into nitrous acid and nitrogen, respectively.
