PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a smooth three-dimensional impression even when displaying a complicated design.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a liquid crystal cell 4 having a display 41 switching a transmission state and a non-transmission state by selective voltage application across a pair of transparent electrodes; a light source 3 lighting up the liquid crystal cell 4; and a transmissive reflector 5 being arranged between the light source 3 and the liquid crystal cell 4, reflecting an incoming beam which passes through the liquid crystal cell 4 and enters from forward side to the liquid crystal cell side, and passing through a back light from the light source 3 to the liquid crystal cell side. The liquid crystal cell 4 can keep a smooth three-dimensional impression and high contrast by comprising a segment display layer 410 having a gradation area 411 where an open area ratio varies depending on a size of a division 411b. |
