PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device including a D flip-flop circuit which holds data and does not require a data saving operation and a data return operation even when powered off during processing execution.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device comprises a circuit in which a first input terminal is electrically connected with a first terminal of a first transmission gate; a second terminal of the first transmission gate is electrically connected with a first latch; a gate of a transistor is electrically connected with a second input terminal; the first latch is electrically connected with a first terminal of a second transmission gate; a second terminal of the second transmission gate is electrically connected with a second latch; the second latch is electrically connected with an output terminal; and the transistor uses an oxide semiconductor for a channel region and has off-state current per channel width is 1×10A/μm and under.
