PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating water containing an iron cyano complex compound and a soil purification method capable of efficiently decomposing and purifying a persistent cyano compound such as an iron cyano complex even in an anaerobic condition.SOLUTION: Glucose is added to water containing an iron cyano complex compound, and the water containing the iron cyano complex compound to which the glucose is added is decomposed by glucose assimilable anaerobic microorganisms to produce free cyanide. The free cyanide is decomposed by free cyanide degrading enzyme expression microorganisms.
