PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag and an air bag device, which facilitate control of opening/closing of a vent hole and which can suppress an increase in weight and cost.SOLUTION: An air bag includes: a valve body 5 which is wide enough to cover a vent hole 4, which has seamed parts 5a and 5b having both ends seamed to a surface of a base fabric in such a manner as to sandwich the vent hole 4, and which has an overall length longer than a distance between the seamed parts 5a and 5b on the base fabric; a strap 6 which is connected to an intermediate part of a back surface of the valve body 5, and which is inserted into the air bag 1 from a slit portion 61 formed on the base fabric; and a tether 7 which has one end connected to the strap 6 and which has the other end connected to an air bag component member. The strap 6 deforms the valve body 5 into a folded state in a tensioned state of the tether 7 and brings it into intimate contact with the surface of the base fabric to close the vent hole 4, and the folded state of the valve body 5 is released in a relaxed state of the tether 7 to open the vent hole 4. |
