PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of units for storing light quantity correction values, regarding a technology to adjust light quantity of laser light for scanning a photoreceptor.SOLUTION: An optical scanning apparatus includes: a photoreceptor 43; a light source unit 29 configured to scan the photoreceptor 43 with laser light in a main scanning direction; a plurality of correction value storage units configured to, with respect to a plurality of areas A1 to A8 arranged side by side in the main scanning direction, obtained by dividing the scanning position with the laser light on the photoreceptor, store respective light quantity correction values associated with the respective areas A1 to A8; and a light quantity correction unit 13 configured to correct the light quantity of laser light for scanning the photoreceptor 43 while using the light quantity correction values associated with the areas corresponding to the scanning position with the laser light. In the plurality of areas A1 to A8, based on a target correction value to which a light quantity is to be corrected according to the position of the photoreceptor 43 in the main scanning direction, the length of the area in the main scanning direction becomes shorter as a variation of the target correction amount per unit length in the main scanning direction becomes larger, and respective light quantity correction values D1 to D8 are set based on the target correction values corresponding to the positions of the areas A1 to A8 corresponding to the respective correction values. |
