PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted type display device that allows a user to identify an external apparatus existing in a visual field of the user.SOLUTION: A head-mounted type display device comprises: an image processor performing processing for generating an image; an image display section that has an image light generation section for generating image light representing the image and is configured such that a user can visually recognize a virtual image and an external image; an image capturing section that is provided on the image display section and captures an image in a visual field direction of the user; and a position detection section that identifies an external apparatus existing in the captured image captured by the image capturing section and detects a position of the external apparatus in the captured image. The image processor generates an image in which information associated with the external apparatus is displayed at a position corresponding to the position detected by the position detection section.
