PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rain sensor suppressing reduction in detection accuracy of raindrops.SOLUTION: A rain sensor attached to a transparent substrate (WS) includes: a light emitting element (10) for irradiating the transparent substrate with light; a photodetector (20) for receiving light of the light emitting element reflected by the transparent substrate; a regulating part (30) for regulating an incidence angle of the light incident on the photodetector; and a detecting part (40) for detecting an amount of rainfall on the basis of an output signal of the photodetector. In the rain sensor, one light emitting element irradiates one irradiation region (IR) on the transparent substrate with light, while one irradiation region is divided into a plurality of detection regions (DR) and one photodetector corresponds to one detection region. The regulating part regulates the incidence angle of the photodetector, in such a way that the light of the light emitting element reflected by one detection region is incident on the corresponding photodetector. The detecting part detects the amount of rainfall on the basis of the output signals of the plurality of photodetectors corresponding to one irradiation region. |
