METHOD FOR MEASURING PARKING LOT OCCUPANCY STATE FROM DIGITAL CAMERA IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automation system for detecting a place of available space by executing a parking lot occupancy state estimation for inexpensive automated and semiautomatic parking lot execution system.SOLUTION: A method includes: a step for acquiring one or a plurality of image frames of a parking lot from at least one digital camera; a step for executing pixel classification by using at least one vehicle detector for the acquired one or plurality of image frames to measure the possibility that a pixel belongs to a vehicle; a step for calculating the probability that parking space is occupied by a vehicle on the basis of a belonging probability density function that changes spatially and the possibility of a vehicle pixel in a target area; and a step for measuring parking lot space by comparing the calculated probability that the parking space is occupied by a vehicle with a prescribed threshold.
