PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber capable of restraining generation of a hitting sound, capable of preventing a sudden change in damping force, and capable of improving ride comfort in a vehicle.SOLUTION: A problem solving means is a shock absorber D including a cylinder 1, a partition wall member 2 slidably inserted into the cylinder 1 and partitioning the inside of the cylinder 1 into an extension side chamber R1 and a pressing side chamber R2, passages 3a and 3b for communicating the extension side chamber R1 and the pressure side chamber R2, a housing 15 for forming a pressure chamber R3, a free piston 9 movably inserted into the housing 15 and partitioning the pressure chamber R3 into an extension side pressure chamber 7 communicated with the extension side chamber R1 via an extension side flow passage 5 and a pressing side pressure chamber 8 communicated with the pressing side chamber R2 via a pressing side flow passage 6, and spring elements 10 and 11 for generating energizing force for restraining displacement of the free piston 9 to the housing 15. The shock absorber includes a cushion C for preventing a collision between the free piston 9 and the housing 15. |
