PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge light type planar light-emitting device which does not cause no bias in the indoor illuminance distribution when installed indoors, for example, as an illumination body.SOLUTION: As for an edge light type planar light-emitting device, when a perpendicular direction from an original point to a light-emitting surface is made 0° with a central point of the light-emitting surface of the light guide plate as an original point, and a direction from the original point to one end face where the light source is arranged and a direction to the other end face are respectively made 90° and -90°, an angle distribution of light volumes of emission light from the emitting surface shows: (i) a peak showing maximum amount of light is unimodal, (ii) when the angle of peak is made &thetas;, -20° ≤&thetas;≤20°, (iii) when an amount of light of the peak is made 100%, a difference of an amount of light at the angle of [&thetas;+ 20°] and an amount of light at the angle of [&thetas;-20°] is 20% or less, (iv) when an amount of light at the peak is made 100%, an amount of light at [&thetas;+60°] and an amount of light at [&thetas;-60°] are respectively 30% or more and 70% or less. |
