PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for retaining a best display quality, retaining rewrite time to a level not causing stress, and expanding operation temperature.SOLUTION: A cholesteric liquid crystal display device according to the present invention includes: first driving means that sets contrast to pixels by a single line scanning in matrix driving of a cholesteric liquid crystal; second driving means that sets the pixels by scanning in a plurality of parallel lines in the matrix driving of the cholesteric liquid crystal; and drive switching means that switches a drive system into the first driving means or the second driving means according to preset setup conditions. |
