PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel epoxy compound having a good balance between properties such as high thermal resistance and excellent handling properties.SOLUTION: An epoxy compound is produced by (A) reacting a 9,9-bis(hydroxyaryl)fluorene [for example, a 9,9-bis(alkyl-hydroxyphenyl)fluorene] with triglycidyl isocyanurate or (B) reacting isocyanuric acid with a 9,9-bis(glycidyloxyaryl)fluorene [for example, a 9,9-bis(alkyl-glycidyloxyphenyl)fluorene], in the presence of a base catalyst. |
