PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To much more easily synthesize images.SOLUTION: A joint candidate region determination unit detects the region of a person from each of two photographic images in which different persons are included, and determines a joint candidate region by excluding the region of the person from the photographic images. When the respective photographic images are overlapped, the joint candidate region is determined as any region other than the region of the person in any photographic image. A joint determination unit determines a joint passing an upper side and a lower side of the joint candidate region to divide the joint candidate region. A synthesis unit synthesizes the two photographic images at the position of the joint to generate an output image in which each person is included. This technology may be applied to an image processing apparatus. |
