PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-stroke graphic direction detection device for detecting a direction of a single-stroke graphic.SOLUTION: A painted-out single-stroke graphic 1000 is generated by painting out the inside of a single-stroke graphic plotted in a recognition area 100. The recognition area 100 is divided into a plurality of small recognition areas 100A, 100B, 100C and 100D with a plurality of lines L1 to L4 radially extended from an origin P as boarder lines. The area of a portion included in each of those small recognition areas in the painted-out single-stroke graphic is calculated for each small recognition area. The small recognition area whose area is the largest is selected. In which direction the selected small recognition area is positioned with respect to the origin P, that is, in which direction the single-stroke graphic is positioned with respect to the origin P is detected. |
