PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope cleaning implement capable of coping even with a stretched wire rope and grease of high viscosity, and continuously performing cleaning.SOLUTION: A wire rope cleaning implement includes: a wiper assembly 3 composed of a resin wiper 9 provided with an inner surface in the shape of the twist of a wire rope 2 and cut off on a surface that is offset for a fixed distance from the center and is in parallel with a center axis, a metal plate 10 arranged on an upper end face of the resin wiper 9 and provided with an inner peripheral diameter larger than the outer diameter of the wire rope 2, and reinforcing members 11 and 12 for compressing the resin wiper in vertical and center directions and fixing it; a rotation support member 26 for supporting the rotating wiper assembly 3; a scraper 7 arranged on the upper end face of the wiper assembly 3 near the wire rope 2, for scraping grease 4 on the wire rope 2; and a cover 6 for covering the wiper assembly 3 and the scraper. The wire rope 2 is relatively moved in a direction from the metal plate 10 to the resin wiper 9.
