PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device which, when talking on the telephone, permits the user to perform operations necessary to execute talking related functions smoothly.SOLUTION: The portable terminal device comprises: a display screen 3 disposed on a front face 2a of a cabinet 2; a display control unit 21 which performs display control on the display screen 3; a talking speaker 5, disposed inside the cabinet 2, which conveys a received voice to the user's ear directed toward a back face 2b; a touch detection unit 14 which detects a touch on the display screen 3 attempted by the user; an operation determination unit 22 which determines the kind of touch operation performed on the display screen 3 during a telephone talk on the basis of the detection result of the touch detection unit 14; and a function execution unit 23 which executes a talking related function assigned to the kind of touch operation determined by the touch operation determination unit 22.
