PURPOSE: A vacuum device for infiltrating epoxy resin into an unconsolidated material is provided to consolidate a sample of the unconsolidated material such as loose fill insulation and sediment while reserving intrinsic micro-structures of the sample so that various analysis methods can be applied. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum device(100) for infiltrating epoxy resin into an unconsolidated material(160) comprises a desiccator(120), a container, a vacuum pump(110), and a reacting solution reservoir(151). The container receives the unconsolidated material inside the desiccator. The vacuum pump is connected to the desiccator. The reacting solution reservoir, which is connected to the desiccator and the vacuum pump, includes a supply pipe for supplying the reacting solution to the container. |
