The method comprises extracting (S1) mudstone under the ground, transforming (S2) the extracted mudstone, and treating (S3) the transformed mudstone. The transformation step comprises crushing (S21) the extracted mudstone to obtain mudstone fragments, and calibrating (S22) the mudstone fragments into two categories according to its sizes. The method further comprises developing a set of mudstone devices provided with an emerging hole and mudstone fragments of the first category and treating the mudstone devices to obtain ceramic devices intended for forming a tunnel. The method comprises extracting (S1) mudstone under the ground, transforming (S2) the extracted mudstone, and treating (S3) the transformed mudstone. The transformation step comprises crushing (S21) the extracted mudstone to obtain mudstone fragments, and calibrating (S22) the mudstone fragments into two categories according to its sizes. The method further comprises developing a set of mudstone devices provided with an emerging hole and mudstone fragments of the first category having a size lower than a first reference size and treating the mudstone devices to obtain ceramic devices intended for forming a tunnel, developing a mudstone brick from a mixture of water and mudstone fragments of the first category and treating the mudstone brick to obtain ceramic bricks, treating the mudstone fragments of the first category to obtain a ceramic powder and mixing the ceramic powder with a binder for forming a mortar or a concrete, treating the mudstone fragments of the second category having a size greater than the first reference size and lower than a second reference size to obtain ceramic aggregates and mixing the ceramic aggregates with a binder for forming a concrete, and treating the mudstone fragments of a third category having a size greater than the second reference size to obtain ceramic gravels intended for formation of a railway ballast. The mudstone devices have a tubular or annular form. An independent claim is included for a building material.
