PURPOSE: An automated teller machine in which an align sensor accurately and rapidly senses whether a medium is aligned or not and a gate control method according to the alignment of the medium are provided to perform the alignment of a paper medium with reliability. CONSTITUTION: A medium transfer unit(105) forms a path for transfer to a temporary stack unit or a reject unit depending on whether a medium deposited in a medium deposit unit has a problem or not. A medium align unit(150) is on the path of the medium transfer unit and aligns the medium. A first gate(120), which is mounted at the medium align unit and at the connection part of the path of medium transfer unit, recirculates the medium to the medium align unit by redirection or transfers the medium to the medium transfer unit. A second gate(125), which is mounted to be possibly redirected on the path of the medium transfer unit dividing into the temporary stack unit or the reject unit, selectively transfers the medium. |
